Privacy Policy — Go Point

Introduction

Go Point is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when using our applications and services.

Information We Collect

• Account Information: Name, email, phone number during registration
• Location Data: Precise and approximate GPS coordinates (drivers only) to determine delivery location, calculate distance, and track the driver’s position in real time during a shift. Location collection continues in the background during a shift even when the app is closed or the device is locked
• Order Data: Order details, addresses, amounts
• Notifications: Push notification subscriptions for sending alerts

Background Location — Driver App

• What is collected: the driver’s coordinates and the time of the last update, on a periodic interval (about two minutes by default) and after a minimum distance change.
• When it starts: after sign-in and the start of a shift, and only after the driver explicitly accepts a disclosure screen explaining the purpose before any permission is requested.
• In the background: collection continues during a shift even if the driver leaves the app or locks the screen. An ongoing notification stays visible the whole time tracking is active.
• When it stops: on sign-out, or when the driver switches to “unavailable” / ends the shift. Collection stops and the notification disappears.
• Why: assigning each incoming order to the nearest available driver is a core operational function of the service, and it cannot work if location stops every time a driver puts the phone in their pocket.
• Who can see it: Go Point supervisors and administrators only, through the management app. Driver location is never shared with customers or third parties and is never sold.
• Retention: location is stored as a single “current position” that is overwritten with each update. We do not keep a historical trail of drivers’ movements.
• Right to decline: a driver may decline the background permission and keep using the app; location is then collected only while the app is open.

Information Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except:

• Sharing delivery address with the assigned driver
• Showing the driver’s location to their supervisor and to company administrators internally only, for order assignment and delivery follow-up
• Using Google Maps services for distance calculations
• Compliance with legal requirements

Data Protection

We use HTTPS encryption and secure databases (Supabase) to protect your data. Data access is restricted based on roles (driver, supervisor, store).

Your Rights

• Request deletion of your account and data
• Request a copy of your data
• Unsubscribe from notifications at any time
